Well, last year we prayed for rain. I think God heard us! This was the last tornado that came through. It just brushed right by us. I think that it eventually touched down in Cartersville somewhere on Grassdale Rd. Every time there is a tornado warning we go over to mom's house and get in the basement. Marc stays upstairs watching the tv. Waiting for the weather man to give the exact countdown. It is funny to me that now we can know exactly when one is going to hit. I know that we can usually count on a call from Marc's dad, Dennis to forewarn us about the weather. On this certain day he was in the bed with a migraine :(.
The worst fiasco that we had this year happened at about 1 in the morning. The wind was so strong that it woke me up. It sounded like a tornado was going through our house. I jump out of bed and found Marc still watching tv. He had jumped up also. I said, "What do we do?" He said "You get Malachi and I will get the car." Well, at this point I thought that we were right in the middle of a tornado. So, I ran and got Malachi out of the bed and covered him with a blanket. Marc helped me down the stairs outside while it was raining so hard I slipped on the step and scrapped the back of my ankle pretty bad. We get over to my parents house (because they have a basement) and I am soaking wet in my sports bra and panties (half naked). My whole body is shaking from nerves and the cold rain. My sister says, "Would you like some clothes?" Hahaha! So, we waited for the storm to pass with my sisters and eventually made our way back home. Oh, if you didn't already know, we live in the same cul de sac as my parents. We have visited many a time this year with all of the storms that have been coming through. We are blessed to have not had a bad one though.
